i have decided that ignoring my niece and nephew during the holidays, is the most unloving thing i could possibly do.

they stopped celebrating christmas and birthdays, after my sister began studying with jw's about 6-7 years ago.

we did not celebrate either, until 3 years ago, when my son was 2 and my daughter was 4, and we'd figured out that the jw's are wrong about this decision.

Most every JW is terrible about thank you cards, I think. We're so unacquainted with giving and receiving... and manners. From things I've seen, you can give a needy pioneer your personal check for $1000 and they'll turn their back on you, telling everyone how "Jeehovah provides!" That was so tiresome to hear. Jerkhovah has been unemployed for thousands of years and been mooching off the hard earned money of his human slaves.

By historical JW standards, the policy would be that if you weren't accepting the gift, you were to return it with a note giving a "witness". However, after I saw the video with Sparlock, a new toy and gift from a friend at school, going straight into the garbage, it's clear that a new standard is being set. No, "Now let's make a nice Thank You card for your friend." And no, "Jehovah hates toys, so we should give him back to your friend and 'witness' to him about how we as JWs are better than everyone else because we never have fun." Instead, "Jehovah hates make-believe toys! Destroy the wizard!" and it was straight into the trash. Can you imagine the reaction of the gift-giver's parents when they find out this new toy that was gifted was throw in the garbage by religious wack-jobs?

FaithfulWitness, I don't know what your family is doing with the gifts, but if they're wasting them, they're among the worst 'witnesses' I've heard of.

so last night i had a family meeting and told my kids that i was quitting as a jw and then gave my wife my da letter to give to the one elder i like at the hall tonight.

so this morning i see a text from the co elder the one that met with me and is gunning to get me out and had already tried to get me to a jc meeting this week.

so the text reads "your wife has informed me of your letter and its sad to hear, would like to meet one last time not as a jc, to be sure this is what you want.".

Wasa's right. I'm starting to forget all the bureaucracy with the borg. You could reply, "No need to meet. The letter is sufficiently clear that I no longer slave for the Watchtower Corporation."

"Please respect the fact that I have disfellowshipped you for being a proponent of false prophets. Discussing the sins of Watchtower Corporation with you would clearly be a waste of both of our time since you are a very low level pawn of the Jehovah's Witness clergy heirarchy."

Frankly, I probably wouldn't respond. Was the letter that unclear? Does he have problems reading?

As far as the wife and kids, don't judge them too harshly. You are the one that has changed and woken up. They are still in the WT stupor. Make it clear that this change is for the better and that you haven't become the "stark raving mad evil apostate" that the scum bag elder wants you to become.

finally in japan, there happened a civil trial which is by a brother who was unfairly deleted his status by a body of elders of his congregation.

he has sued them for religious and power harassment.

although the brother's name and details are not told, the trial is progressing to the middle stage.

she was watching it at my parents house just now.

i asked what she was watching on my mums tablet and mum said whilst laughing 'oh sorry but she wants to watch bible stories' then all i heard was something about jehovah and keeping rooms tidy.

I'd suggest that you have a better explanation. Depending on the child, I might go with, "We don't want her having nightmares about fire and rocks falling from the sky, or imagining that demons are hiding under her bed."

Otherwise, I would do a redirect. In my case, I'd say to my child, "hey, go to youtube and show grandma the new video we uploaded." Or something like that to completely shift the situation without any confrontation issues.

lost my job, just a week before making the final arrangements to move into my very own apartment.. got a speeding ticket on the following sunday for trying to make it to the meeting "on time", (never made it to the hall, just parked in the back of a shopping center for 2 hours in silence).. marked by the elders for quitting pioneering, no more commenting and "failing to adhere to bible counsel".. jw family sees me as a disappointment.

non-jw family is too far away to care.. found out ex-girlfriend got df'ed and is now pregnant.

puts some of the blame on me for how things turned out.. realizing that she's not entirely wrong as i was still an ignorant, kiss-ass, die hard jwdub when we started dating, always putting the "kingdom interests first" never having time for her since "the end was so freaking close" and then warping her up in the mess of me learning ttatt.. dwelling night after night in "what could have been" if i had never been a jw.. alternating between being a theist, atheist and agnostic on a daily basis to the point where i don't care anymore yet getting creeped the f*ck out when facing my own mortality and the thought of me dying alone.. always coming to the same conclusion, when i find myself alone on friday nights and weekends, that i have no actual friends, only two conditional jw "friends" which are both currently out of town for about a month and 0 real, non-jw friends.. haven't been able to sleep well in literally weeks now.

i have been posting on here for a few weeks now and i know i have been quite colourful in my language.. i hope i have'nt offended anyone, if so, i am sorry.. i'm just so damn angry about everything.

i feel like an idiot.

i'd been falling for the bs for so many years.. will these feelings ever fade?.

No need to apologize. What you're going through is what this forum is about. The anger will come and go. Sadness will come and go.

From my experience, these begin to fade as you get on with your life in the direction that you want to take it. But since I can't recover all those years and all that work wasted in WT, there will always be some anger, sadness, and hurt that goes with it.
